First Day of November

Today is actually All Souls' day but here I am sitting in front of my computer at the office. Yes, because today is a working day, unfortunately. October 31st and November 1 were the only days declared as non-working holidays. Oh well, so work it is. But actually there is nothing much to do in the office these days since the fiscal year has just been starting. So, here I am visiting my blog which I have neglected for quite some time now.

We have been discussing if we are going to visit to Batuan over the holiday since Papay is not working on that day, then yesterday the weather was so nice so Batuan we went. It was around 1 in the afternoon when we left, it was scorching hot in the city. I have so many plans in my head. I was planning to go to Shiphaus after we offer prayers to our departed loved ones over at the cemetery. I actually am not too fun of that Shiphaus because hello what's in there to be excited? It just happen to be a building formed like a ship because maybe the owner is a seaman or something. It really don't get me excited. But for the sake that we regularly visit Batuan and never have we stepped foot on that Shiphaus thingy. Why am I justifying things? Hahaha. Then after Batuan, I planned to go to Sevilla's twin bridge. That excites me!

We were coursing Hanopol-Batuan road smoothly, well not really because we almost met an accident along Canangcaan, Corella road when we were about to overtake the multicab suddenly moved on our way, that was really really close. I cannot imagine if Papay was not able to sway the motor away from the multicab. I was thanking God all those times for sparing us. Good thing that there was no vehicle heading on the other side of the road. All throughout the trip I was watching the road and reprimanding Papay not to overtake and be very careful because that was really close.

When we were approaching Batuan, the sky was getting darker then the moment we stepped foot in Batuan, it eventually rained. We have to stop several times, waiting for the rain to stop so that we can then proceed. Thankfully, the rained tamed, we headed to the cemetery. We were able to lit candles and offered prayers. Then we decided to go. When we were heading the town proper of Batuan to visit Shiphaus, we have noticed the dark clouds and it was really raining really hard over there. So with a heavy heart, we went the other way and headed home instead. All the excitement that I felt that I can already cross out Shiphaus and Twin bridge from my to go list was vanished and replaced by disappointment. But I have to be practical and logical,I cannot risk our health just to go there.

We planned on taking pictures on the bridge of Hanopol instead. See pictures below.

As you notice, I don't have picture of myself because us mothers are the default photographers (eyes rolling). The stories behind these pictures are funny and will be cherished. This little lady has been asking me for quite some time now why aren't we travelling like we used to before, I believe I have already blogged about that. Well, she was so happy that although it wasn't what we have planned for but we were able to travel nonetheless.

After our short visit to Batuan,we then visited our departed loved ones at Dampas Cemetery. It was as usual jam-packed. Things like this makes me realize I am really growing old because before I like to go to Dampas cemetery at night, sometimes spend the night there because it was like a party. There are a lot of people. But now, I dread that kind of scenario. It makes my head ache. I prefer going there when there are less people. Oh well, at least I am maturing, hehehe.

I guess, that would be all for my holiday. It was well-spent indeed, right?
