On Getting a Loan

I am feeling giddy right now. I am so excited to build our own house. I want to go home in a home where I can say that it is the fruit of our hard work and of course, hard work in getting a loan. Because let's admit that, it's really hard to build a house with our savings because we can't even start to save. haha! But even though, I will be getting a loan just to have a house, I will be paying for it, so still, it is fruit of my work.

But I am having trouble deciding where to get a loan. Haha! I am torn between getting a loan with this bank that offers bigger amount in 1% interest or with the COOP that I am thinking of joining that offers not that big amount but I get to have my share and savings. Hmm.. I really need to decide now. For me, who'll process faster and the one that will not cause me much hassle, I am with them. Because I need to get it ASAP, because there are still things that I need to settle besides building our house. I need to clear out my debts first before I can proceed with the processes in building the house.

I want a simple house because I can't afford a fancy one to be honest. I have to dream according to my status also, let us be realistic! My house would maybe look like these:



Originally, I was so in love with the house in the second picture, but then as time goes by, I am becoming more and more worried or should I say I am beginning to think that that design isn't practical, it might cost me that much. I am also thinking of the design of the roof, I think water can get in if there's a rain. I liked it because its design is so modern, so today! So, yes, I am still in the process of finalizing what really is it that I want. 

And then, I came across that house in the first picture. I like its simplicity and the design is just perfect for me. It's also small which I like. The design is just the ordinary/usual bungalow type which I think is not hard and expensive to do. But I am not going concrete all the way, that would cost a lot. Maybe in the following years, because I have a really tight budget right now, so maybe in a couple of years. I will just copy the structure of the house, but then instead of hollow blocks as the walling, I will make it 3 layers of hollow block from the ground and then the rest of the wall will be "amakan". I am very fond of a house made of "amakan", I don't know..maybe because I know that it is the one that fits my budget. hehehe. 

When the tight becomes tighter, the most important achievement that I want to see the least is that I will be able to build the main structure, poles and then roof. Because I believe if that is already there, I will find means and ways in order to have it walled and everything will follow. It will motivate and inspire me to finish it and make it live-able.

So there, that's what's keeping my head lately. I've been thinking and imagining a lot my house. Hehe. That would be a big achievement for me, for us a couple and then, hopefully everything will follow. With God's grace of course. Because I really feel that if we put God amidst us, everything will fall into place.

Let's hope and pray for that house, that it will be realized this year hopefully.

On the first day of 2018, it was raining the whole day because of TD Agaton. Yes, Agaton started the new year. We all did not invite him but still, he came and even left some areas flooded. But, nonetheless, we had fun celebrating the first day of the new year 2018 and at the same time the birthday of our youngest bro, Emman. Day 2 of 365

Second day of 2018 was a working day for me. I had to endure holiday blues and get myself to the office and spent 8 hours in front of my computer looking at pictures from the previous holidays and did not even touched anything that has something to do with work. Hahaha. Lucky for me I don't have that much to do these days so I had the luxury of time to splurge on unnecessary things. By the way, I took my daughter with me to work since I really don't have anything to do at the office. We went to buy the toy that she wanted for the money that she earned (partly). It was expensive! I never would have splurged my money on that toy if it was my money, but it's partly hers, so let it be. She was happy though with that toy and that was enough for a mom like me. Unplanned trips are the Best!

 Last July 1, since it was a holiday in Tagbilaran City in commemoration of its Charter Day, we have no work or shall I say I have no work- Papay decided to take the day off as well. Out of the blue, he jokingly said that we'll go to Strawberry farm in Mayana, Jagna and I took his words - so off we go! That trip was long-overdue anyway, we have been talking of going but it never pushed through. It is true that it's better not to plan things and just go with the flow, no disappointments.  It was a long drive, we had several stop overs because reality, our body can't keep up with our minds. My legs and back were aching but because I did not want to be called "KJ" as what they often call me.. so I braved all that.
