Camiguin..finally!
Before anything else, picture first of the famous "white island" of Camiguin.
We then proceeded to our first hotel where we spent our first night. GV Hotel, was great, our room was cozy, we rested for a while until we are called for our dinner outside.

After years of planning and deliberations, Camiguin finally happened. I am going to recall as far as I can remember from day 1 till we arrived home with a lot of pictures along the way. Hahaha!
April 8, 2016 (Friday): Around 8AM, went to the office to send reports waiting for our ride to Jagna. At around 930AM, departed office via an SUV, arrived at Jagna around 11AM, bought tickets and had our lunch in a nearby restaurant. Departed the port of Jagna, which by the way is the only way to go to Camiguin.
We arrived at Balibagon port, Camiguin at around 5PM.First impression? Quietly scary!

The ride by the way was a bumpy one, because of the big waves. I had headache and nausea all throughout the trip especially when we were still inside the air conditioned-room, that's why we decided to go outside and just enjoyed the humid and the view outside. I felt a lot better that's why we stayed outside all throughout.

We dined at 4 R's restaurant, a walking distance from GV Hotel. Eat-all-you-can men! Sorry diet!
April 9, 2016 (Saturday) - Araw ng Kagitingan! We woke up super early because we were scheduled to leave for our next hotel and the adventure to follow after breakfast.
Arrived at Pabua Resort before 7AM, ate breakfast since we still can't get into our room until 12 in the afternoon. Then, adventure started. We first went to Katibawasan falls, we rented a multicab to go around the island.
Katibawasan falls has this long flowing water coming from I don't know where, maybe from the mountains. The water isn't that impressive though because it's summer, hello? And we are experiencing El Niño. It was a challenge to get into the water because it is so cold, but nevertheless we gave in. And we did not regret it. We took some under water shots, though almost all of my underwater shots were a failure because I can't stay long under water. Talking about being bloated from within, hahaha!
spell FAILURE, hahaha...
After Katibawasan falls, we went to Ardent Hot Spring, a long and trekky ride. The place was not so crowded when we got there around 10AM.
After few minutes we decided to eat lunch just outside the spring. Then we headed to our next destination which is the sunken cemetery and the walkway to the old volcano.
Next stop was, the church ruins..breath-taking view, picture-perfect really. We spent long here because of its scenic beauty.
We then headed to Sto. Niño cold spring, but when we arrived there, it was so crowded. We decided not to enter anymore because there's no space to accommodate our group anymore inside. Then, we went to Tuason falls, on our way to Tuasan falls, we were captured by the beauty of nature. I was so amazed on how clean the whole place was, wherever we go you can't see any garbage everywhere. I also applauded their provincial government on doing a great job on their roads all concreted, even the farthest places we went, the roads were all concreted.
We stopped by on a road, and did some picturing having "tres marias" as our background.
Then, there's Tuasan falls, with a big flowing water. We once again took a dip and observe the place. It was very crowded when we went there.
Tuasan falls was our last stop. It's been a long day, time for a well-relaxed night. We dined at a nearby chicken hauz. After dinner we went back to the resort and played a fun game. It was a fun night.
crazy, right?
April 10, 2016 (Sunday): The next morning we left early or not so early, we woke up early by the way as what we were told. The boatman came late, so it was already late when we depart to white island.
and a lot of failed underwater shots
And then it's time to return to the resort because it was so hot already and we're hungry, hence the no breakfast idea. Exhausted that we were, we still got our lazy butts to a nearby "carinderia" for our early lunch.
Then lounged the whole afternoon at our room, woke up at some points to watch Pacquiao's fight then went back to sleep.
Later in the afternoon, we went to Mambajao to buy some "pasalubong" and to explore the place also. The place was so quiet and peaceful. There's no mall and places that we can stay and relax. We just went to their town plaza and stayed for a while while we decide where to eat dinner.
Then we went home already by the way we went to this bar, the only bar in the island. We just went there for a while because everybody's so tired, and besides we have to wake up early because we need to be in the port early to buy tickets.
April 11, 2016 (Monday) : After an early breakfast, we went to the port, waited until ticketing booth is open. True enough after a while, people came little by little, it's a good thing we went early, if not maybe we can't get tickets back home and wait til the next day for the next boat.
The ride home was smooth-sailing. The sea was calm. We decided to take the seats outside, avoiding the possibility of a bumpy ride but no, it was so calm and easy.
We arrived at Jagna around 11AM, we arrived at the office around 1PM already. Had lunch in the office with Dina because we still have some reports to send. Then we went home. That concludes our Camiguin weekend.
I had a lot of beautiful memories there, not to mention I got sick when I arrived home. Everything was at its stall the moment I reached home, asthma, cold, fever, my body was terribly aching. My body totally gave up that I took a day off from work the next day. But I am still so glad to be home safely. Thank you Lord!
Lots of love,
Mamay
